It's dumb, dangerous, and these people hardly ever look to see if somebody is driving down the aisle.

I almost witnessed a crash earlier. Car enters lot using the lanes going normal speed(10mph or so). a few seconds later another car enters the same way and guns it through the smallish lot to park in front of the store. The people driving normally almost hit her, but it wouldn't have been their fault as they were driving correctly and she was speeding and driving through the spaces.

People like that can get fucked. If you're going to drive through the lot and not use the aisles, at least treat the end of every bank of spaces as a yield.

Everyone drives through parking lots. Did you perhaps mean driving through the parking spaces?

I'll cut across lanes from time to time as needed, but I always do so recognizing that I'm operating outside of the normal right-of-way and therefore either only do it if the coast is clear, or yield to anyone using the aisles properly. That's just common sense: If you're driving in a way that people aren't going to expect, do as much as you can to ensure they don't have to react to your unexpected actions.

i do that at walmart, but there's not really a choice because the parking lot is massive and there's two exits that are around the main parking lot

so thhis is typically how the parking lot is usually. there's more cars on the bottom edge than there is, i'm not sure what was going on there when this image was taken, but whatever, the gist of it is, i'm crossing parking spots to get to an exit, because there's no reason not to

trivia: that parking lot area below burger king? it's not part of burger king, or walmart. it's owned by someone else and has its own address.

Yeah it's one thing to be reasonable but most people I see doing it don't seem to care that they are wrong. No problem if you pay attention and do it defensively.

I mostly dislike the drivers who speed through those parking spaces without any regard to anyone else who might be approaching one of those spaces, be it another driver or a passing pedestrian. Like these impatient drivers can't be assed to look before they floor it.

Is it illegal to drive across parking spaces? Ive been doing it, but a friend of mine who was a passenger in my car said I shouldnt be doing that.
And in response to her bizzare entrance, my body gave an enthusiastic thumbs up.

The red line/problem car was also going way too fast for a parking like, actually gunning it to the space closest to the door.

Now, if you drive that way safely, great, no problem. I've seen, far too often, people doing this that don't give a fuck, don't yield, whatever. I've seen accidents almost happen in these cases.

It may vary by where you are, but generally speaking parking lots are private property and your local highway code (or whatever laws govern your roads) don't actually apply because that only applies to public roads. You can still be charged with driving dangerously if you go that far, but otherwise the property owners are the ones that can set or enforce rules (and very rarely actually do anything about anything short of damaging the property).

I had a jackass almost hit me once in parking lot going like at least 30 if not 40, I looked at him like he was a fucking psycho after.

If you insist on driving through a parking lot for some fucking reason keep a slower speed.
