Angels versus demons is always a badass subject. Especially in games or shows. I love the statues and artwork as well. Just seems like a badass thing to me. Even if I wasn't religious I feel I would still like the lore.
Somewhat although some mythologies/beliefs have a form of this that I like better such as With Hades and Zeus. I'm not religious but it sure would be a nice thought to imagine a afterlife rather than nothing after death.
What has come out of it (like Dante's Inferno or the concept of dualism) is interesting to me but I find it sort of scary to believe that there could be a place of infinite punishment.
No one shall expel us from the Paradise that Cantor has created.

Isn't most of the "lore" when it comes to angels and demons in the Christian sense actually mostly from later works like Paradise Lost, the Divine Comedy etc?

Nah, it has too many plot holes, and the main character is too flawed but instead of making that part of the character like the Greek gods, the canon just ignores those flaws. Also the fanbase isn't fun to be around.

If we're being honest. Christianity pretty much robbed the dualistic light vs. dark concept from Zoroastrianism.
Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation. - Oscar Wilde
If you are "in it for the lore" you should really just convert to paganism. Go start reading some north Germanic literature. Icelandic sagas should keep you going for a while.
Poll of the Day» You know as a christian, besides the religious aspect I love the lore
