A dedicated clock, not your phone

I have an alarm clock but I don't really know why I still use it. I use the alarm function, but I could just use my phone, and I don't need to look at it for the time either. It takes up space/an outlet and eats up batteries (albeit very slowly, and I could take them out but then I'd have to reset it every time it got unplugged).

Yeah I have a digital clock. Never use the alarm though as I use the alarm on my phone.

I have one of those old wind up clock with two bells on top somewhere in the house. It's not being used.

Yes, it has huge digital display so I can see the time without my glasses and in complete darkness. Also acts as night light.

yep, a little palm sized one. have it next to me in bed, so I can see the time during the night. I never use the alarm function, as i'm up most days by 6:30-7:00 a.m.

I don't like seeing the time when I'm in bed. I have a harder time falling back asleep if I know how close it is to the alarm ringing. It's like I put too much pressure on myself and then I don't fall asleep.

Of course, sometimes I can tell the rough time anyway from sunlight levels and noises outside.

Yes but it runs on batteries. I haven't used the alarm since I quit working 3 years ago.

I have the opposite problem - I don't use my phone because I think it's too loud. I couldn't find a volume option, though I did found out today that I can make it ascending (like my alarm clock), so I might try it out as my regular alarm.

Yeah, although its not plugged in atm. I usually set a few alarms on my phone (easier than trying to hit snooze on it) and than sometimes use the actual alarm clock as an okay, its seriously time to get up now.

Technically yes, but it's quite old (like 15 years), such that some of the buttons aren't as responsive as they ought to be. That makes changing the alarm a bit of a hassle, so I've switched to using my phone.

It's very hard to live in human society without an alarm clock and I prefer a standalone unit to a phone, just in case I forget to charge my phone. That said, I've sometimes used my phone as a backup.

No. I threw it out a few years ago, because I decided always having the time looking at me when I'm battling insomnia was bad for me.

Also, the alarm part of it was broken and legitimately didn't even go off sometimes. That's not an excuse for sleeping through it (though that happened too), it actually didn't work consistently because the switch that turned on the alarm was finicky.

Yes. I set it every night. I get up every day, turn if off, "rest" for a bit and accidentally fall asleep again.
