last time I think I was clocked around 90 wpm but that was back in high school.
Around 90wpm.

Quite a bit slower when it's Japanese though because of kanji.
What's the difference between a pickpocket and a peeping tom?
A pickpocket snatches your watch.
Only 80-90. I haven't been practicing all that much lately.
Stupid signature!
Given that 50 is slow, you've picked some bizarre benchmarks and I'm not sure that anybody does less than 20/minute even via hunt&peck, you've picked some terrible benchmarks.

When I was in high school, my gwam between 120-130. These days, it's about down to 80-90 because I fell back into the habit of being more conscious about errors and going back to correct them which eats up time (although that's really more of a testing error, I suppose).

Spelling errors make me laugh.
Mine is 30-40. I thought it is normal. But looks like 50-60 is normal. I think i should change the poll options.

The range of poll options makes me wonder what's the WPM for typing with a TV remote or console controller.

40 - 50 wpm in general.

I think I could do fifty on my phone
Some gov. jobs require you to show proof you can type 40wpm or more.

I asked some friend who work for the gov. about this, cause I figured everyone types at least 40wpm, but it turns out that quite a few long term gov. employees do not, which is why they implemented the test requirements.

So when you apply for a position, you have to go to one of a few specific websites that test your speed, and include proof in your application.

I did a quick one and hit 105wpm the first time I took it, and just used that for my apps. I could easily practice a bit (tests are always different, and take time to get used to), but I figure 105 is probably enough if they are looking for 40wpm+.

I used to play some online game that had people race to type stuff etc, there where some crazy fast typers on there though. I type faster then I can talk, and I didn't always win when going against them. I'd say there are certainly quite a few people typing 120+ out there now adays.

When I was playing epic mafia every day my typing was bonkers fast. I never use the computer anymore though so it's probably not bonkers nowadays
trying some online tests, looks like its about 55 when there's lots of capitals and weird words, and ~73 when it's nothing but lower case words and spaces. if I concentrate I can do it pretty accurately but it's fatiguing and I inevitably get sloppy and mistype a character here and there.

A lot of government jobs are just another form of welfare, giving people with virtually no ability a paycheck.

Mostly Congress.
60 with typos included or minus most pronunciations outside periods, 30-40 without typos and all punctuation.

i'll never hold a job where typing is a big part of it, but I type fast enough I don't feel inconvenienced when I must type a long message

I have no idea how fast I type. I haven't thought about typing speed since I was in high school.

I know it was part of our grade in that class then I broke my finger and pretty much messed up my hand. I had stiches and one of those splints that held tour finger straight.

My grade went down to a C because I couldn't type as well.

yeah I had a keyboard class teacher that told me breaking my pinky wasn't an excuse, it had this large awkward splint on it that made typing nearly impossible other than doing the hunt peck method with that hand.

I think you should play GTA games on PC. GTA Vice City improved my typing speed. Typing various cheats and codes many times increased my speed.

wouldn't work for me. cheat codes in GTA games always came down to muscle memory for me, i'd be able to do it 100 times without fail super fast but you asked me for the code and i'd have to stop and think
