Have you ever smoked a cigarette?

I guess I would be somewhere between three and four, but I voted for the fourth option. I only ever smoked cigarettes when I was drinking, but it's not like I'd smoke them every time I drank and was around smokers.

If you want to get super literal with the topic title, I think technically I've never smoked a cigarette, as in one from start to finish. But I've collectively smoked at least one cigarette's worth and I can't think of a better way to word the question
I smoke. And I hate it. But I also love it.

I wish they were illegal. They serve zero purpose and make me a worse person.

I wish tobacco was illegal and weed was legal.
This might be a dumb question, but is it possible to get rid of a tobacco addiction by smoking enough weed? I know they are two different kinds of "highs", but if you're high enough off of weed do you not feel the urge to smoke cigs? Or do nicotine withdrawal symptoms just persist through that?
Nah I ain't about cancer sticks, or anything that involves putting smoke in my body.

Nope, And despite a majority of my family doing so, I likely never will....
ive done chew dip and nasal snuff but never once smoked.

i had two parents who did but quit. realized its a dumb habit early

I used to smoke weed and while high I would chain smoke about a pack in half an hour. Does that answer your question?

Lol
I have tried the "instead of smoking a cig, just smoke a joint!" Didn't work for me, but it might work for others.

But you can get your medical marijuana card for the reason of quitting smoking cigarettes. You can also get your medical marijuana card for pretty much any other reason though.
Yep. Started at 14 and haven't stopped.

one of my best friends/former roommates went through a cycle of "i started cigs again to quit smoking weed / I started smoking weed again to stop smoking cigs"

Well I don't know what it's like having a nicotine addiction so that's why I asked

I've heard the first one before, but I don't really think I've heard the second

I forgot about dip. Pretend that the option about "smoking" other tobacco is just doing other forms in general. And I guess "nicotine" would be proper way to put it now since aren't a lot of the vape juices just extracted nicotine and not actually tobacco?

Quite the opposite. I know several potheads who picked up cigarettes as well.

he's a special person, but usually, he would start the weed in the summer, and then when school started he would try and quit and use tobacco to quit, and then in the fall, he'd start smoking the herb to try and quit the cigs
I wonder how often you need to smoke weed to be compelled to replace it with cigs when you're no longer able to meet that level of weed-smoking

I didn't even know smoking weed to quit cigs was a thing. It seems counterproductive though.

I smoked in high school, but never regularly and never past high school.

Yup, three years ago to this day. My plan is to quit after moving out, when there are no cigarettes in the house.

I don't like the rapid aging that comes with it, even if I am a light smoker.

Judging by a lot of the responses in this topic, it isn't, and in the post you quoted I was talking about the reverse

How? I'm generally curious. I mean both should be legal in my book so why someone would want to make the least harmful one illegal is beyond my understanding.

I tried it for two months when i got my first real job providing disposable income. Went through a buncha different brands, menthol, non menthol, gave it a solid try, and it did nothing for me so i stopped. I'm the only non smoker in a family of seven now.
Smoked spliffs and shisha, but never a cigarette

Yeah. It's a love hate thing. They're really enjoyable but I know they're terrible for health.

I'm happy to report i have been done for more than a week. Ecigs are really useful for kicking the habit.

Only once, an older cousin was smoking on our porch when I was about 14. I asked if I could try one, and she lit one up for me and called my mom out to watch, them both thinking I'd get sick from it. I started smoking it, and after a bit they realized I wasn't sick and took it back. I didn't really see what the big deal was so I never tried them again.

Idk why I didn't get sick like they expected, maybe I didn't inhale all the way or something, maybe my house being being saturated by secondhand smoke by 2 chain smokers caused it. Either way, I wasn't impressed.

I don't really see the point in explaining after having seen the mental gymnastics you've gone through before to defend your cigarette habit. Plus you were the one making a claim on which is less harmful, the burden of proof is on you

To be honest your posts were contradicting themselves. You were shaking your head at the guy for saying tobacco illegal and weed legal. Then you take the opposite stance in your next post, saying weed should be legal so I don't know what the fuck you're trying to say

Vaping doesn't help me at all. Doesn't taste right, doesn't hit right, it just feels wrong and useless

Jeez, nearly 50% haven't smoked any tobacco. PotD is always so prude (not that I'm condoning it)
Nope; never saw the appeal to do so.

Vaping sucks. It doesn't replace cigarettes at all.

Nicotine isn't even the addictive substance in cigarettes. Vapes drown you in the stuff, and they give me a headache.

I hope one day science can make a healthy cigarette.
I'm 25 and I never used any tobacco product and I never will. I hate smoke (I hate the smell and I don't like going anywhere near cigarettes) and all of my family smokes, which makes me the only pure person in the house. Sad, isn't it? :( I don't even like alcoholic beverages either and I don't plan on ever drinking (but I accidentally drank something nasty without knowing what it was). But I digress. Smoking is a waste of money just to get you more killed.

I used to be like this when I was like 15. It's not really that big of a deal to try something once and you just sound silly with your holier-than-thou attitude
I seem to recall a smoking topic a while back where most of PotD was against smoking and basically said what NejiHyuga900 said. This topic tells a different story though.
