Not a fan myself, despite loving NBA Jam in the 90s. I respect the sport, but I have no huge attachment since the Clippers left San Diego when I was 4, so I didn't have a home town team to latch on to.

None really tbh, I like going to live games but I don't follow any teams or watch games on tv

I like it but the parity is terrible. It gets annoying how the same two or three teams every year are the only ones that matter. Even when there is a nice surprise team that gets hyped up, they usually fall fairly early in the playoffs, like the Rockets this year. Now we're about to have the same exact Finals for three straight years... and before that, we had Heat-Spurs in consecutive years.

That's just the nature of the game. A couple of guys can dominate and control a game.
Nope. Not a fan at all.

Lakers are always there.

And we will be back with a vengeance very soon. Lonzo Ball is the hero we need and deserve. Just wait until our lineup is Ball Westbrook George Ingram Cousins
I don't follow any sport. I haven't been keeping up with sports entertainment, especially given Raw's booking.

Which is why it was so iffy. After all, they have to lose eventually, right?

But before the season started nobody thought they were going to be there. Steve Kerr was a first year coach, the warriors hadn't been there in like forty years, nobody thought curry was anything other than a spot up shooter, draymond was a nobody. They had literally just fired their coach.

It's easy to say that it's so predictable now, but nobody thought they would get there, let alone ruin Lebron's return to Cleveland the way they did. In the west you had the thunder who were ready and waiting, the defending champ spurs, and the clippers who had just stolen deandre from the mavs.

Basically, it was a complete surprise. And we're about to see something that is three years in the making. These garbage and boring playoffs might payoff with the greatest finals of all time.

Just because I know nothing about the NBA other than Jordan was the greatest player of all time because he led us to victory over the aliens in Space Jam doesn't mean... wait, what were we talking about?

I liked it a lot more when I was younger, but not I just find it to be OK. I can watch a game for while but I don't even remember the last time I sat down and watched a whole game.

I mostly blame flops. And the dragging on of the time in the last 2 minutes. And LeBron.

Alright, here's my issue with LeBron. When the casters talk about him, they talk about him as if he's some basketball god that does everything perfect. I literally heard a caster say about him,

"That's the most perfect bounce pass I've ever seen!" or something along those lines.

I rolled my eyes.

But mostly, it's the flops that make me not want to watch. Then after any sort of foul happens and doesn't get called, the player(s) look around and try to get the foul called. (The foul "pleading" is what makes me dislike watching a lot of sports.) (In fact, I was quite annoyed with the China vs. Iraq. I swear the Iraq players were trying to take a nap on that field.)

I read some story about LeBron keeping a restaurant open an hour after closing so him and he friends could drink and then he left the bartender like a $4 tip so I think he is a butthead

I had the highest amount of interest in the '80s, even though I got sick of seeing the Celtics and Lakers in the Finals every year. It started going downhill when they allowed the Bad Boys style of physical play. Then it got horrible when the Bulls were winning because it became nothing but one-on-one, everybody else just clear out while one guy tries to beat his defender. The best thing to happen was when the US didn't win gold in the Olymics and came in 3rd or 4th in, I think, the Pan Am games. It allowed the European style to kinda take hold and it actually started becoming a team sport again.

I'm pretty indifferent about the NBA now.

I hate flopping, but what's even more annoying is when a shooting player purposely jumps into a defender and they give them the foul call. If the defender gets in the way naturally, I get it, but jumping into them isn't something that should earn a foul.

Well, I guess that might technically be considered a flop, but it's not the typical "hit the deck" type.
Just the Lakers.

NBA Playoffs are a joke. Either reduce the total of teams to make the playoffs, or reduce the games. Still a month before the finals end.

Best of three is ridiculous. They could stand to maybe bring the first round back to best of five but that's the only best of five series I'd want to see.

Why is first round best of three so rediculous? The seeding puts the best with the worst anyway.

no, i like college basketball more but even then, it's not my favorite.
Because any team could get lucky and win two games, short of a few series each year. Just look at the Celtics-Bulls series - the Bulls won the first two games but then lost four straight. Three games isn't a sufficient sample size to determine the better team.

Why not best of nine games then? Let's have NBA 10 months of the year?

I think you quoted the wrong post and because that's too many games? What a dumb leap in logic to think that because I'm against a super short series that means I want it to be even longer than it already is
