Social affliction?

What it do, baby boo.

I've got social anxiety/clinical depression. Diagnosed by in 2010. Been treating it with therapy and medication since then. Back in the early stages of getting help, PotD was my way of socializing with peers no matter how cringey it was. Over time, my use for PotD has dwindled considerably. I get bored every now and then and check in on this place. I think it was at least a year before my return this year.
I have GAD it seems but it doesn't stop me from being social. I am a introvert but again I still go out for a few beers now and then and interact with people. I guess I'm more of a thinker than a talker though so I need people to start a good conversation before I say much. As for chatting up the gals I'm not good at that at all. I get bored rather easy and don't like chasing them. I also tend to talk to gals as I would anyone and treat them the same way too even if I want more from them. This one time I had a good conversation with this Scottish gal who worked on the same shift as me. She wasn't attractive and had a boyfriend but we talked all shift. It was nice because I find it refreshing to have good conversations with anyone.

I'm introverted, but calling that an affliction is messed up.
I actually am an extrovert, and CAN explain why I come here.

Bad habits! :D

Perhaps a different word was in order. But for now, assume that introversion is a positive affliction.

Introverted Personality Type

I lol'd that a basic personality type that makes up about half of the general population is being called a "social affliction." That's some shit-tier trolling, especially when put among the other options.

Schizoid Personality Disorder

Oh wow.
Introverted, extremely shy, social anxiety, depression, one doctor said I may be bipolar but my other disagreed(so idk), my ex therapist said I have very strong schizoid personality traits(but not the actual condition), very low self esteem.

I have no social afflications. I was an introvert before moving to Philly. Here I learned the extrovert part of myself and now I can be either.
Probably. Never had any medical opnion on it, though. Could be just me being an introvert and stressful in general.

I have a little bit of Aspergers, and some small social anxiety.

But overall, I'm just not talkative at all. Its not that I don't know how. I just don't want to.

I most likely have high functioning aspergers.

I can be socially awkward but overall I am not that weird socially i guess.
i don't think introverted counts as an affliction

Introvert. Never was always the case I just sort of ended up that way through time. Main thing is, is starting conversations. It really depends on the person I'm trying to talk to though.

I never have a fear of talking to people or anything. Its just finding a opening, and talking about stuff.
Putting introversion on the same level as autism is just wacky.
One day dude, I'm just gonna get off the bus, and I'm gonna run in the woods and never come back, and when I come back I'm gonna be the knife master!

I'm an introvert and, really? Being inwardly-focused is a 'social affliction' now? Heavens forbid someone likes their quiet time or to be with only a few close friends instead of a massive network!

I'm an extrovert/extravert, and I come here because I attend a community college, which has nor dorms and no central community, and so I get bored when I'm not there. Also, my friends are all too far away for daily visits to be practical. Thus, I go on the interwebs :D

Growing up I was really shy, these days I'm not shy but I don't see the point in having more than 1 or 2 friends anyway. Most people just want you to entertain them I feel like. Not often you come across someone that completes you.

"Positive affliction" is a contradiction. Any way, I think the question you were getting at is "Is there some thing that prevents you from being social?"
Autism, Depression, Social Anxiety.
I'm actually an extrovert, which makes my life a living hell.

Jesus christ if you guys don't believe it's an affliction than don't get your nips in a twist. Poor choice of words on my part but I said that twenty billion times.

Anxiety which is mostly under control lately.

Depression that comes and goes.

Introvert but I don't consider that a social malady.
