If we had an All Fictional Character Battle, would any of you be fine with the idea of Mike Tyson or Tony Hawk being in?
They should not be. It only makes sense in The Ringer's battle because they're a sports website and Tyson, Hawk, Vick are important characters in sports games history. (Where was QB Eagles, though?)

Kuge was watching NBC when he sees a preview for the next To Catch a
Predator. Headslam dude looks similar to what is supposedly Kuge. Kuge
makes a joke topix for the lulz.
