Loki appeared to have been killed earlier in the movie, during a mission where he and Thor had joined forces, and the two shared an emotional moment where he died in Thors arms. The ending scene of the movie saw a conversation with Thor talking to his father Odin, who was seated on his throne, where Thor declined the offer to take the throne. After Thor walked out, it was revealed that it was actually Loki, who had taken the form of Odin, raising questions about how Loki managed to survive and what had happened to the real Odin.---
