As for the magic question, no. Near/far sightedness comes from a deformity of the eye socket. Magic can do alot of things, but fixing and already deformed socket is probably beyond magic's capabilities.

Ima have to disagree considering magic can transform you into a completely different animal and do a whole host of other things
