He decides to make his own music to get the ladies, and goes to his "The Past" room. Marceline seems less than enthused, really not happy Ice King is around. Jake and Finn move in to remove him, but Marceline has a change of heart and wants to help. He breaks down in the middle of his song begging for anyone to love him.
Marceline has a history with Ice King. She knew him as Simon. She misses him. She says that he always finds her whenever she moves. He had a picture of young Marceline. They lived together and knew each other right after the Mushroom War. He found her alone.
God damnit. Please find yourself again Simon.
I never knew a children's show of any kid could hit me as hard as this episode but this had me in fucking BITS by the end of it. It's so fucking heartbreaking when you realize he only ever became that way because he loved Marceline and wanted to keep her safe in such an unsafe and horrible world. God I'm in tears just thinking about.
