Touch posted... They explained it. It was mainly to prevent any fucking up the timeline by meeting their future selves. It was also one of the requirements for being able to jump, that they knew when you would die and that you die before that future timeline.

Yea but weren't there literally only 500,000 human beings left on earth? That means every single person in every army on earth should have qualified before the civilians. The writers were out of there minds or a dozen different people wrote different rules without checking with each other.---
