Not defending the impeachment, but it looks like you missed the part where Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham said they were going to vote down the impeachment as quickly as possible, throwing any semblance of impartiality right out the window.
Pelosi delaying sending the articles to the Senate is a smart move in light of that fact. She maintains control over the proceedings, and as such control over talking points.
Republicans screwed up by saying what everyone knew was going to happen anyway. Why admit that you're not going to attempt a fair trial? Throughout this whole process the Republicans have been claiming it's unfair and partisan, then they throw out this hypocrisy and give the Dems a chance to make that same claim against the Republicans. Dumb on their part.
