I honestly think a lot of people seem to do it subconsciously. My wife always does this, when I point it out to her she says she isn't doing it, yet she is clearly doing it.
Also its great when people try to do this shit while I'm on a motorcycle, I start speeding up, and so does the car, but then in literally a second I go from 70 to 90 and the car is probably flooring the pedal, but he's already long behind me and I switch lanes.
