I guess I can see being frustrated by the controls. (although honestly one of the major things that makes nintendo games good is usually their correct approach of making the controls 'deep'. almost every nintendo game has extremely fine tuned and intricately thought out movement, even to the point of giving each inspanidual game its own unique feel.)
but as far as the atmosphere and gameplay... Super Metroid does so many things so well that no other game that I've ever played has even approached in terms of quality. If you're aware of any games that do it better, let me know so I can play them.
