normal and sane video game discussions(whether praise, criticism or predictions) on video game boards?
I've been to many different video game discussion board websites like IGN and there's no other gaming forums that I've been to that is as ridiculously toxic and pathetic like Gamefaqs boards. The Poll of the Day board here is ok with some occasional trolling and flaming but Jesus Christ, the video game boards are just god-awful noxious. They're nothing but a cesspool of trolls, batshit crazy angry fanboys that are extremely overly-defensive of their precious favorite consoles and their console exclusive IPs, and flame wars between your normal, sane and unbiased gamer(who gets sucked into the flame wars), trolls and fanboys. You can't even make valid criticisms of a video game hardware or IP while still praising them(basically trying to be unbiased and fair) without being followed around and flamed/attacked by an angry internet mob of fanboys here.
On top of that, it seems like everyone here all over Gamefaqs love to stalk people's profile just so they can find more ammunition for their pathetically lame attempts of their insults towards people who don't share the same views as them. I've never been to any other forums where users stalk other users' profiles to point out that they're brand new or to make ASSumptions that they're just another alt account of a "troll"(the most over-used word that gets thrown around a lot here), just so they look for some sort of verbal weapon or verbal booby trap to use for their flame bait.
Sure, it's the internet and it's obviously bound to have pissing contests and trolling between keyboard warriors but never have I been to a forum as toxic as this one. It's in the same level as Youtube comments in terms of toxicity.
