I really don't have a problem with this reasoning, in theory. Games are often more than the sum of their parts, and a game with lots of weird annoyances can still exude greatness overall. I've given high ratings to plenty of games here on GameFAQs that have some grating flaws if you decide to deconstruct them and break them down mechanically. It's the "overarching" experience that counts.
In any event, this Harry Potter game looks cool as hell and I'll be getting it for my kids.
