No degree will open up a career for you (well except maybe a small handful). you're still living in the lie that college is the single most important metric about an inspanidual's career, it's not.

You need to decide WHAT you want to do, then get the skills (and indeed perhaps a degree or credential) to make it in that field...

iirc you have a Phil degree from U Toronto. that's really great, many people in your same shoes have made it very far in life. it's not the only thing that was great about them though.
