I am at a loss for words as to how Cloud Strife possibly could be losing. Cloud is a gaming icon, the face of an entire genre and the de facto mascot of an entire company. He revolutionized an entire genre, bringing cinematic storytelling and high fidelity graphics to the forefront, and he brought console RPGs, then a niche genre, into the mainstream. He is a household name and one of the most recognizable video game characters of all time, with his iconic spikey hair and buster sword. Even if you did not like Cloud specifically, you would be voting for him in recognition of his contribution to the industry.
