Adel from Final Fantasy 8.
As a stupid little 10-11 year old playing this game for the first time, not really getting a grasp of the junction system, and just bullshitting my way through the entire game spamming summons; this fight was a very rude wake up call.
It didn't help that it's a boss at the 90% mark of the game, and I could not for the life of me beat it. I literally restarted the game from scratch thinking I missed something, wasting like a 30-40 hour playthrough at that point.
And for those who don't know (or are just curious), Adel is the first boss fought immediately at the start of disc four. You are stuck in an area/dungeon that you cannot leave at that point, with monsters that give little to no exp to level up (even though I understand now that leveling in FF8 is useless since enemies level with you, but I did not know this at the time), and the only way forward is to beat this boss that has a gimmick where you can't use any AOE attacks (which was my whole playthrough since I mostly spammed summons). I did not have any earlier saves, and didn't keep my save from the end of disc 3, so after throwing my face at Adel numerous times and failing her battle gimmick, I had to restart the game. Lol
