Even for a rag like BuzzFeed, it's a pretty big reach to go from "A guy who worked for Trump and a guy who worked for a guy who worked for Putin talked about possibly doing X" to "Trump planned to do X!"
Is it, though? We live in the age of unfounded speculation. And no conspiracy is too ridiculous that the #NeverTrumpers won't eat it up.
