Probably not.
This reminds me of something that happened to a Special Education teacher's assistant 15 years ago. She was Hispanic and had to chase after an autistic white student in front of the school. A group of cops misinterpreted what was going on, so they tackled the TA and drew their guns on her. One pointed his gun in her face. The principal, who was also Hispanic, came out and tried to explain everything, but the cops didn't believe she was who she said she was. Finally, one of the white teachers vouched for the teacher and principal, and the cops backed down. No apologies were given to either woman.
The child was part of a program where a school district that was predominately white and didn't have a program for Special Ed kindergartners sent their children there. The principal canceled the program citing the danger it had brought to her faculty. The TA herself quit her job and went into another profession.
