It actually is stealing, regardless of your feelings. People who say this isn't stealing are likely the same who say piracy isn't stealing because they're 'not actually taking anything'.
Semantics and logical fallacies could be used to explain away anything and everything, but at the end of the day, merchandise wasn't paid for. It's theft. It doesn't matter if it 'let you do it', this is stealing.
