It has 1 of 4 classes and 2 of 6 areas unlocked but otherwise you can get almost every item and etc. It focuses on being easy to get into, and not having to memorize 1,000 key commands to play- this is the biggest barrier to these things for myself and what looks like many others!

EDIT: The screenshots Valve had me use are all 1280 x 720, which makes them look more horizontally stretched out than they actually are. I hate that :(
