i make games in my spare time but i havent published any of them anywhere in the last ~6 years, so you can't play them. sorry.

ive been working on a libble rabble clone recently to learn godot but it will probably never be fun enough that i actually want to show it to people

Yeah, Biologger is my game. I have one of the five worlds free to play in the demo on Steam.

Give me another day or so and you can try my upcoming roguelike demo out. It has 1 of 4 classes and 2 of 6 areas unlocked but otherwise you can get almost every item and etc. It focuses on being easy to get into, and not having to memorize 1,000 key commands to play- this is the biggest barrier to these things for myself and what looks like many others!

Here's some basic info about it I posted in June, but it's improved a lot since even then:

Thanks a lot!

I really like this new one- it takes lots of things I learned with my first roguelike and fixes or makes them better. The best part is that it's not slated for release until November so I still have plenty of time to tweak and polish things and make it as good as possible.

I can't stand advertising at all. It totally sucks. Publishers have contacted me before but what they want is just too much. It's either tons of free keys (TONS) or $4000 / month which I can not afford at all. So it boils down to putting links in my signature because it's easy and free (lol)

I did try and put up a post on r/roguelikes however the mods took it down because I had to wait 3 months between bouts of self-promotion. The last time I made a post there it was looking for beta testers. I didn't think this was self-promotion and they did. And they hold the keys, so what can you do?

That being said I have about 4 more days before my window arrives mwhahaha.

Jeez, 4000 a month? If you sell your game for $10 you gotta get 400 before that even starts being worth it. With how many indie games are out there, can publishers even make that heavy of a marketing lift? I know some obviously sell way better than that but it's rare. Feel like I'd rather just sell three a month on my own, obviously that's not enough to make a living, but it's net positive at that point, I think.

And I know that between the publisher and storefront cuts you don't get nearly $10. So let's just say you net $5, then you're looking at 800 sales a month.

That DOES really suck.

I was looking into upgrading my crappy video editing software and the one suggested to me the most (Adobe PP) was also a subscription model. I just want to buy it once and be friggin' done with it. What am I, a Hollywood director or something? I just want to be able to edit a stupid minute-long trailer.

I used Gamemaker 4 through 8.1 and stopped using it when they switched to Studio. Now I use Godot.
