Some drugs can indeed be absorbed through the mouth walls or under the tongue (medical lingo is buccal or sublingual), so worst case you've gotten a unremarkably-different dose than if you swallowed it whole
Depends how much is absorbed or loss in the mouth/tongue to saliva, etc. compared to stomach/intestines to acid, etc.
