I just hit chapter 9 where they're arriving at Bree and it's crazy how much of the book is not in the movie, yet the movie still stands solid despite that --- instagig ... Copied to Clipboard!

Bombadil is in fairness always going to be tough to convincingly pull off, and doesn't really add much to the tale. Nice cameo for his children's favourite doll though. --- System error, signature not found. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Another thing that's different about the book and the movies is in the book elves can be (and often are) fucking JOLLY. Yes, Elrond, Galadriel, and other such important folk are often very serious, but that's because they've got a lot on their plate to deal with, but the regular elves joke around, sing, and so forth. They only sing sad songs in the movies. :/ --- God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in her shoes, 'cause then you really might know what it's like to have to choose. - Everlast ... I remember it took me 3 attempts to read Fellowship. There was so much exposition at the start of the story that it can be a real slog to get through. And even with that, Fellowship was probably my favorite of the trilogy. Really fun read. I also love how with any book that was made into a movie, my mind will create its own imagery for what is taking place, even if Id seen the movie first. The LotR books were no exception. --- Live action Hungry Hungry Hippos though, now that was a sport. ~Aeon Azuran ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah there's a LOT of detail with not so much going on in the first parts of fellowship, Two Towers has always been my favorite but we shall see on this go around...
