RE making a big comeback? It never really went away. Its had some lacklustre games but thats to be expected for a series thats run as long as it has.

I would LOVE a Fatal Frame comeback. Maiden of Blackwater didnt really scratch that itch.

Sure, as long as it cuts back on the incest, big booba ghosts ruining the immersion, and an actual story that isn't simply "shinto ritual goes horribly wrong". Seriously how is it that they have 5 games (6 if you include the 3DS spinoff) and they all follow the same tired plot?

I also never played one, so take it for what its worth. I recall them always being in the discount bin, multiple copies etc.

remake 1 and 3 also scrap 5 from existence cuz that sucked balls and the shit they did to miku was crappy
2 is a re-remake of the wii one so hope the extra staff they add is decent but i don't trust them after 5

Capcom seems to be alternating between mainline and remake, so it stands to reason that they're going to do another remake after Requiem.

And at this point, you either remake RE1 or CV.

RE4 and RE5 are some of the highest points of the series. Its gone through various stages as a series but at no point was it ever seriously considered to be dead.

And if were talking quality of games Id say its in one its worst periods at the moment.

3 to me was peak FF and 4 i was mixed but i mostly played it on the wii back in the day and never properly got to the end due to a bug i didn't pay attention to it so might give the remaster a shot one day
1 was a good interdiction to the series and i love the closed house setting tho 2 while overrated was an improvement but man stop with the wanking for it already and also stop upping the incest vibes in it too cuz it undercuts the story for it imo

2 was escaping a village instead of 1 where we were trapped in a house and looking for someone in that place so just like resident evil 2 FF2 is fondly remembered for it's locale and story
and i agree about the whole finding keys for 2 but i mostly chalk that up to the template of it's time so mostly didn't mind much but if i replay it now days i find it dragging down the game so hope the re-remake cuts down on it

I've only played the first 3. I admit I liked 2 the most

3 was pretty good too. I never played the others cause originally 4 was Japan only and then by the time it finally did actually come to America I was busy with other games. How many are there now? 5? Or 6?

5 and a spin off on 3ds
4 is the decent one after the OG 3 ps2 games while 5 sucks

Them remaking FF2 is good enough with me. Game scared the shit out of me, so I'm very excited to play it again.

Can't wait to see how a new generation of people get the shit scare out of them by the broken neck and falling ladies! Just hope they add reminders of your current objective.

I thought it was very clear that I was talking about my opinions of the games. So if we go from 7, we have:

7 was really good.
Village was terrible.
RE2R was terrible.
RE3R was very disappointing.
RE4R was fine, but came nowhere close to the magic of the original. Not a bad game, but not good enough to dethrone the game its a remake of.

5 is, IMO, the third best game in the series.

FF2 remake on wii upped the fan service there so i expect them to do it again in this re-remake and the incest vibes too

RE4R is fucking amazing. The best part about it is it doesn't remove RE4. Both have their particular charms about them. I personally really enjoyed the more down to earth tone (that still has some great cheese in it) along with characters that overall don't suck (Ashley, Luis). The villains definitely did get worse though.

I think it's a fucking great remake and easily worthy of sitting right next to original 4 in quality. Separate Ways is also massively improved over the junk in OG 4

Yeah like I said, both have their reasons for existing. OG is just a pure cheesy campy action game that controls kind of poorly and has real 2D characters. RE4 plays so, so well, but tones down some of the reasons why 4 was considered so great. I love them both very much, easily my favorite RE games overall.

nah the new SH game took the core themes and nailed it and it's a proper SH game up there with team silent hill games beating 4 for me and i played the OG's during ps2 gen
