https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/robert-munsch-maid-1.7634927 Not sure how big Robert Munsch is outside of Canada, but my god he is beloved in Canada. He is one of the most prolific and beloved children's authors in Canadian history. He has both Parkinson's and Dementia and has been approved for Medical Assistance In Death. My late wife received the same blessing a couple years ago in the wake of her journey with degenerative medical conditions. For the most part people here seem to be pretty supportive of MAID but I know there are a lot of people who disagree with it. I am glad that someone so beloved and universally respected as Munsch is being open with his decision to "eventually" use MAID to end his life on his own terms. --- Lindsay - Jan 13, 1990 - July 17, 2023 Thank you for fighting the fight for so long for me. ... Lindsay (my late wife) said it wasn't necessarily that she didn't want to live anymore. It was that the pain of day to day life and knowing that it is only going to get worse with no hope of improvement outweighed it. For my late wife she had already lost most of her ability to swallow and she had MCAS complications that would have made a feeding tube a really horrible and almost impossible situation. She did not want to go through that with no hope of improvement at all. --- Lindsay - Jan 13, 1990 - July 17, 2023 Thank you for fighting the fight for so long for me. ... Copied to Clipboard!

my grandpa had that combo, with a few other ailments, and was resuscitated a few times. I'm pretty sure it reached a point he really didn't register anything in the present anymore. Immobile, predictably a lot of bodily functional losses, likely in a mess of numbness and/or pain. I mean I didn't want to be that guy, but I was starting to voice out that probably is becoming a disservice, like he people acting on bringing him back were thinking more about themselves over coping, than they were about him. By all means they're allowed to be sad, but he lived a dang good life, privileged, and everyone probably should've given mind to let him pass on a relatively higher note than what it became. --- Competing every night, both ends, shoot inside/outside, fast break, transition, Monta Ellis have it all ... It actually did happen, and the request was honoured, but it had me thinking that if he hadn't put it down in writing beforehand he probably would have been stuck since he couldn't talk or write, at best could answer yes/no questions from people, so there's basically no way he ever could have conveyed wanting that [LFAQs-redacted-quote] I think a lot of the argument against it is that they don't expect it to be used responsibly, and if that's where you're coming from then it's no surprise you'd want to push back pretty hard against it --- THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!! People worried that people at-risk will be "talked into using MAID" or something. My experience with it was that Lindsay had to prove she wanted it and deserved it and some medical professionals were trying to talk her OUT of it. --- Lindsay - Jan 13, 1990 - July 17, 2023 Thank you for fighting the fight for so long for me. ... Jeff_AKA_Snoopy posted... https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/robert-munsch-maid-1.7634927We talked about this before. I dont see much difference being asked to put in hospice or MAID. I never gave up with my friend, she did though. I would help till she passed on be it a year, 2 years or 3 like we talked about. Understand going blind was a huge blow, having a unexplained pain where her spleen was also huge. Having her lungs so ravaged by 40ys of smoking and 14 bouts of pnumonia. She was ready. All her loved ones had passed on. She was estranged from her children. So yea I understand why people see no way out. Its up to them to make that choice --- All the iron turn to rust.
