do you actually need it to play? or can you just play it on tv? knowing nintendo they'll probably find a way to force you to need to buy 1.

like $100 i wonder if i could just buy a real one. it's rare so probably not anymore but 20 years ago maybe could have got a bundle for that.

You can't play on TV. That's my issue with it. Being able to play it on TV would mean I could stream it on Twitch. But doing it this way has no major advantages for just playing the Virtual Boy I already own, other than I guess not having to buy the games I don't have.

Why so much effort for a console that everyone hated and finds painful to play?

I appreciate the item as a novelty for collectors, but requiring it is really stupid. Just let us,play the games normally on Switch 2. Most people have never played Wario Land

I don't know but I won't be buying it. I actually remember looking in one at a store, when it was new. It hurt my eyes and I only looked at it for maybe 5 minutes at most. There is a reason that system was a failure
