I'm pretty impressed with the Packers defense ability to stop Daniels from running pretty much all game. Historically, they've often gotten smoked by QBs like that when they run.

That Micah Parsons guy sure is good

Yeah, but they got two first round draft picks out of the deal! Micah Parsons is Micah Parsons, but those draft picks could be anything. They could even be as good as a guy like Micah Parsons. You know how badly the Cowboys need someone like that?

Are the Packers all of a sudden one of the best defensive squads in the league? Early sample size, but that was an impressive show of dominance over two teams who had great offenses last season and should be great this season as well.

I'd pump the brakes on that a bit

the Lions lost 60% of their offensive line and Washington was due for heavy regression

Defense tends to be ahead of offense for the first few weeks of the season

Packers do look good though, but it's hard to say how good the Lions and Commies are just yet

well, they play the Browns next week, so that's not going to clarify anything, lol. I guess time will tell, but good start anyway.

Edit: I didn't realize it, but Washington has not won a game in Green Bay since 1988. An 0-7 stretch. One of those odd stadium-specific streaks.

Not sure if this interests anyone, but I just went down a rabbit hole of odd scheduling quirks that happened pre-2002 when the divisions were aligned oddly and matchups caused strange scheduling anomalies.

One of which was that the Packers and Redskins did not play a single game against each other between 1988 and 2001. They went the entire 90s without playing each other, and by the end of 2000, the Redskins were actually the last team Brett Favre had left to face off against. They finally ended the drought when they faced each other on the first Monday night game after 9/11.

This is pretty crazy, and it's why the 32-team format is best kept. Teams play each other at minimum once every 4 years, and adding more teams would create a scheduling nightmare that could lead to teams not facing each other for over a decade.
