Most people just let their money sit in their 401k. But also, the whole point of a 401k is that your cash is invested already

Yeah, inflation will outpace most of those savings easily lol. That's assuming the banking institutions and corporations wont steal them entirely too

I plan on just ending myself at the hint of becoming old and unable to do things. No way in Hell do I want to watch my body fall apart like that. I know way too much about hospice and death to ever allow it. Something's taking me out and I don't know what, but I do no two things -- it isn't going to be drowning, and it isn't going to be age. Like if I get murdered I'll just be pissed off (if there's an afterlife).

The only thing allowed to kill me is me.

In fairness, up until a few years ago, I felt the same way. Then I got a new job thats crazy money for where it is. A few other things have happened since that have helped, but thats really the thing that made the biggest difference.

It's okay for me because I have a plan. I was blessed with the talent of art and that's always marketable because there's a whole lot of freaks out there. I'll wind up doing commissions of hardcore furry porn. Like real kink shit. The lesson here is that you don't even have to be good in this world -- you just have to market the right thing to the right people.

This is one of the few things that is advantageous about being female. Try doing that as a man and see how far that goes.

I'm nearly 50, and I'm still waiting for the day I wake up and actually feel like an adult.

Tell me about it. Chronologically I'm 55 years old, but with all of the aches, twinges, and pains (especially my back pain, right leg, sciatica, etc) my failing eyesight and hearing, diabetes, etc, my body thinks it's in it's mid-80s, and yet I, me, I still feel like I'm 16 or 17 in spirit.

Being young is something that you can't really appreciate, but when old age does creep up on you, and you realise that your body can't do so much of the things you used to do without even thinking about it (for me, even standing up when I've just been kneeling down, now requires a real physical effort and the obligatory few grunts), well it's really depressing. As is having to take the contents of a small pharmacy every day, just to keep your aging body going.

I'm starting to sympathise with the villain in that old horror story who, every few decades when he becomes an old man, he uses magic to swap his body for that of a young man....

I honestly dont have a problem with any of that kind of stuff >__>
