I am curious when exactly did company start false advertising mobile games? When did they start having idiots loses to simples games and they started creating fake demo for people to try out, when the demo isn't anything like the game.

Years ago.

What's more funny though is that somewhat recently, people started noticing how many were disappointed that the games didn't match the ads and started making games based on those fake ads lol

I know these games that people made into real PC games:

  • Arrow a Row
  • YEAH! YOU WANT "THOSE GAMES," RIGHT? SO HERE YOU GO! NOW, LET'S SEE YOU CLEAR THEM!
  • YEAH! YOU WANT "THOSE GAMES," RIGHT? SO HERE YOU GO! NOW, LET'S SEE YOU CLEAR THEM! 2
  • LISTEN UP! WE TRIED TO MAKE THOSE GAMES EVEN MORE EXTREME! SOME THINGS HAVE TO BE LEARNED THE HARD WAY!
Those are the names of the games.

I wonder if the false advertising started with iPod Touch/iPhone or Android phones.

This was the good old days, when there was no false advertising mobile games.

I think around 2011 was the first time I started seeing game ads that did not reflect the gameplay. I feel as if it were a GTA clone.

It's been common for quite a while in mobile advertising but I think it only really picked up steam in the last 5 years or so. Gardenscapes is the first big name that comes to mind for doing it early.

I mostly remember it with Evony years ago. Probably were more but that one stuck. It advertised itself with mostly stolen art of hot babes in skimpy fantasy outfits

The one that pissed me off the most was evertale. I actually played it before the lies began it was a fairly generic monster capturing RPG.. but the ads were far more interesting than the game itself. They started to paint the game as a subversive meta horror version of Pokemon. Instead of lying about their existing game they should have made THAT game.

ARE they making those games or are they just using that as their new ads, because I see those ones all the time. lol

Has anyone seen the latest ads? Where they claim they are totally playing the game from the ads...

But for some reason they're playing them on full screen monitors while sitting on the couch.

The fact that these false ads are legal says something about the state of society.

True there should be laws that prevents false advertising. There are games that claims they don't have adverts, yet it has adverts.

There are emulators that allow you to play mobile games on PC. Google even has an open beta test for an official Windows app.

They've been doing it for years. Supposedly if the game is free to download there's pretty much no rules on false advertising because no one's being tricked into spending money

I guess so but I don't think they were using an emulator. It also looked awkward as hell, sitting on the couch with a full sized monitor on their lap.
