When not if. People will blame James Franklin but this issue goes back before him. They have 1 win against a top 5 opponent in the last 25 years. Like yeah his record sucks against top 5 and top 10 but it is even worse before him. I personally find it amusing.

As they should be, there are a lot of good teams in the SEC. Simple scoring margin + strength of schedule has 10 SEC teams in the top 25 with Georgia at 26.

Who are you even suggesting shouldn't be there, most of these teams have a win over a significant ooc opponent. If anything there should be at least one more in Mississippi State

OK State has fired the Defensive Coordinator

I'll be kind of curious to see what kind of roster exodus Gundy's firing may lead to with OK State after the season. They totally made the right call moving on from their long time HC (20 years plus a month is a lot) but there are probably some guys who are there specifically because of him and with NCAA being how it is now with the portals, I would imagine that most of their more talented players will be on different teams next year.

As for the SEC's proliferation in the top 25 during the early weeks of the season, the team that I follow is among the number so I'm not going to cry foul about it, though I suspect the perfect record is going to disappear sooner than later and since they're the lowest ranked of those schools....

Anyway, I just hope they can beat Alabama and maybe/possibly/hopefully get an iota of respect for once. Even if they do pull the upset, it will be tempered with "ha, down year" nonsense. Such is the life of the outcast P4 program.

When one conference has almost half the spots in the rankings, that's blatant favoritism. Seriously, it's the "top 25 rankings", not "SEC rankings".

I wonder if Bobby Petrino took a victory ride on his motorcycle after he got the call from the AD today.

That's just the nature of modern college football, man. All of the major programs sans ND are in three conferences (mostly two really). This is just going to happen more often than not due to consolidation and the transfer portal. Again, who do you think shouldn't be there?

Then limit how many schools from any single conference can be on the top 25 list. 3 at most sounds ideal, IMO. That way, you can have multiple conferences represented, including the non-P5. Oh, right. The P5 like to pretend the non-P5 doesn't exist.....

Complaining that one conference has too many teams when there are still 11 weeks to go before the final rankings is silly. A Non-P4 team will most likely finish the season with 1 loss or go undefeated and B1G and SEC will cannibalize themselves from a good chunk of the teams having to play each other. The American Conference has 4 teams getting votes right now, but not enough to break into the top 25.

A trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol who was providing security for Florida A&M coach James Colzie III during FAMUs game at Florida Atlantic on Sept. 6 died less than two weeks after he suffered a broken leg when a player rolled into him while he was standing on the sidelines.

According to the Fraternal Order of Police Florida State Lodge, Craig Gaines died Sept. 19 at his residence. The Facebook post said Gaines death was related to medical complications from his leg injury.

On the first play of the third quarter, FAUs Jayshon Platt was pushed out of bounds on an end around in the FAMU sideline. A Florida A&M player pursuing Platt rolled into Gaines right leg after attempting a tackle and Gaines fell to the ground.

Why is Vandy so good this year? They're usually a mid-low tier SEC team. I haven't really paid attention to them other than knowing my teams usually beat them when they play >_>

UCLA had a very good 1st quarter against PSU. It's too early to talk upset but if that should pass, I don't think James Franklin is riding the team plane back to State College.
