i watched a security guard powerbomb a kid on a desk back in high school and he didn't get fired. later on i knew a 65+ yo history teacher who punched a kid in the mouth when he tried to club him over the head with a desk lamp only to get fired and the kid apologized to.

the way school systems handle assaults is hilariously inconsistent.

As big of a shit the kid was being, I don't think that was worthy of a suplex and possible CTE. The cop had the upper hand with the bear hug, the slam was over the top.

It's definitely a disproportionate response, but the kid absolutely earned it. I don't like it, and I don't want it to happen, but I can't say I don't understand it.

Teachers aren't typically allowed to restrain students, which is likely why.

Anyway, fair, since you can see that the student tried to attack the teacher in the hall.

Unpop opinion here, but I have to vote excessive. To me it looked like the kid had accepted his fate and submitted by the time Suplex Man started running over to him.

I'd be lying if I said it wasn't satisfying to watch, but if you think about the possible repercussions here then yes it was very overboard. Like yeah, the kid was being a dick, but not enough to potentially be paralyzed or brain damaged.

The original admin (the one he hit) handled it well, and the dumbass kid was complying even if he was being a brat about it

He was not complying. He was chasing and still hitting. The suplex may have been excessive, but it occurred while the kid was still mid swing so he's not exactly deserving of much sympathy.

He was complying by going outside like he was told to. I did not see him take another swing, I saw him shove the man into the door, I saw them grab his hands immediately after that, and then I saw a psychopath run up and try to murder him.

I'm against cops ever doing suplexes on people. You can literally die from that.

Yes, he was shoving the teacher through the door and was actively in the middle of hitting the dude again. Correct, you identified how he was not in compliance.

its the steroids. a large portion of cops use steroids.

If you pause and drag the video you can see the kid grabs ahold of the teacher again in the hallway

Speed and violence of action is the best and most efficient way of trying to separate two people. Just getting in between or trying to pull someone away results in what you saw earlier where the kid keeps on going after the teacher

It looks bad/jarring because it was so sudden and efficient, but that kid had to be stopped and that was one of the best ways to do it. People generally dont get less aggressive when they continue to attack someone, it usually escalates further and if that kid didnt get pinned to the ground its not worth the risk that he hits the teacher again.

If that kid hit him on the chin or in the back of the head and he fell back and cracked his skull on the hard floor would anyone really care how hard the kid was taken down? This removed all possibility of that happening and stopped the situation in its tracks

I agree with that. That seemed incredibly excessive and I don't like that the cop suplexed the kid. He probably caused more bodily damage with that than the kid would have caused of just left alone, but I don't think he was wrong to intervene.

This looks like a 3 way fuck up where the teacher lost his cool and didn't keep his hands to himself first, the teen losing his shit and couldn't stop pursuing and attacking a dude that was trying to get away from him, and an overzealous cop that needs to exercise restraint when dealing with kids.

A suplex is a wrestling/MMA move. It is not a proper method of restraint. People who have to deal with angry teens should get actual training in de-escalation and minimum force control. Not try shit they saw on a YouTube parking lot fight.

That's definitely possible but if high school me saw this happen in the middle of an assembly I would have probably reacted that way even if I didn't know the kid lol
