Just the older koth just had a lot of charm to it imo. For new season I Sometimes feel like I'm watching a adobe flash video lmao

Unfortunately almost all new animation in general looks like flash animation. Classic animation really is a lost art that few people can do anymore. It was really jarring when they did a flashback to the original show for a second and the animation style was so different.

No, people can do it. Studios arent willing to put money into it because it is extremely time consuming and expensive. They chose the cheapest version. Honestly, it is probably the only way this would have happened. i wish traditional animation would return, but it is one of those few things that really isnt feasible with how much people howl and moan over how long anything takes to come out.

The time consuming part gets me. We had way longer seasons animated at a higher quality, how were they able to pump those out back then but not now?

Anyways I finished the season tonight, it's not perfect but it's really cute! It feels a bit like something between S1-6 and S7-13 KotH.

I didn't watch it, I don't know how good the animation is (sounds off). But, it's good to BE BACK!!!! Let'em cook, honey wake up. .....Yuck aside. (I did this to parody some lame reactions to things). I kept seeing screen updates on my phone. I wouldn't mind spoilers but only Boomhauer and Peggy look old from what I saw. Hank looks the same, Bill even looked the same. Bobby just looks taller? Heh

Whatta show. And to think when they were doing things about myspace that actually was really popular still. I love King of the Hill. I liked often how it wasn't always laugh out loud funny. A lot of times it was just chill in its humor or sometimes emotional.

Because the technology wasnt there to do it the way they do now. Not as many people trained in it, the people were expensive to hire. Also remember they usually outsourced to Korea for the hand drawn stuff.

Today a ten year old can just pirate the software on his PC and watch some youtube videos and make low quality animations.

I got to watch the fucking hulu trailer so I can at least have some opinion. Give me a minute. Eh that was pointless, I'll just stay in this moment for now as well the OG Hulu trailer didn't change my opinion but it seems like they wanted the community to see Peggy giving him some grief so maybe Hank can clap back.

Dale was an Aluminum Foil hat guy but he still had his own Pirate radio station that he passed off to the Viva LA Revolution because he got sick of running it mostly 24/7.

That's always an issue because the voice actor for Dale passed away during the recordings :--( *tears

Parody and satire doesn't always hit as well when it is basically real life due to social media etc. I remember when GTA V came out and I just didn't find it as fun as GTA IV. Sure that game had a more grounded story generally with wacky moments. By the time GTA V came out it was just yeah this isn't even a parody anymore this is just day to day life BS normally.

As for Dale: I present a theory: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/0/0215847d.jpg

Seven episodes in and I hope we eventually get to see what everybody from the original show that DOESN'T live in the alley is up to. Everything's been focused on the core neighbor group and there's been no update on any of the other characters. You'd think Hank would at least go visit Strickland Propane to see how his old job is doing without him and who's running it now.

Buck shows up in episode ten, retired. We don't learn anything about the old business.

No. There are call backs to random jokes and things that happened in previous seasons but that's about it. No different than watching newer seasons of the Simpsons or Family Guy.

Just finished the season. A very good revival. The only problem is 10 episodes a season is very little and it leaves very little for downtime so all things move at a rapid pace. For example, the the arc with Willow would probably have been better if it lasted more than 1.5 episodes.

I think its because of that scene where she gets mad at Bobby while telling him that she is poly, or something.

Incels on FB getting mad at a character who is written to be confused about what is right for her.

The show even addresses this

She was in an open relationship since it was a kind of like an arranged marriage highly encouraged by her parents.

Season 15 is just the back half of the same 20-episode order that season 14 was a part of.
Season 16 is where wed see any reaction to the revivals success.

I just hope that if we get more seasons, we see more of the side characters from the original run. This felt like it was a bit too contained to the core group and people in their immediate orbit.

We didn't even get an episode where a retired Hank goes to visit Strickland Propane as a customer and gets old-man angry at how the business is operating without him and Buck. Or learning that the business was bought up by Thatherton after Buck's retirement and having to cope with that.

It would certainly be nice to see some other side characters. Maybe Dooley is now at Strickland Propane for instance.

I feel like way too few people honor Greg Daniels in this. He's the reason King of the Hill is what it is today. He came on as a writer and became co-creator. He even changed parts of the series we love. So I think we should totally thank him as well, not just Mike.
