And he was hilariously wrong about the getting modded for quoting a violation (yes, it can potentially happen, but it depends on the type of violation, and even if it does, it is just so no one sees it quoted or otherwise, won't be punished for it unless the quoter agrees with it).

It's gamefaqs unofficial board for bitching about your moderations. Mods browse it and sometimes they'll be helpful but more often than not they'll just talk shit about you.

For many older game boards the topicality rule does not apply (we are talking pre-NES old). Since they don't give topicality warnings when making a topic anymore, the easiest way to check is to try to mark the first post in a topic, and see if 'Off-Topic' is an option.

As for Hellhole specifically, it has a history there, though it does not apply as much anymore, as a place to try to get clarification on why posts were modded (and some people decided it was just a place to whine about their moderations). Now it is more of a small social board.

Interesting, I wonder how that trend got started. Since nobody was ever going to visit a Commodore 64 board.

It is funny he got banned for that, considering the official government position is that J6 was a peaceful protest against a fraudulent election, and the protesters were wrongly jailed, and received full pardons because they did nothing wrong.

So in the eyes of the leader of America, pulling a J6 is peacefully protesting and doing nothing wrong.

Trump isnt treating his terrorist coup attempt as what it was, obviously. Thankfully GameFAQs admins/mods arent as vile and know exactly what January 6th was.

Also, he is suspended and not getting back to CE, but remains to be seen if he gets banned.

The alt was pretty much doomed anyway. Maybe/maybe not temporarily. You aren't allowed to use alts anymore while suspended (and if he gets banned, that's it, no using any accounts anymore).

If your main gets purg'd but your alt gets banned, you are allowed to continue using your main once the purg expires (but the alt is gone for good). If your main gets banned, that's it, you're KoS.

I don't think it's being used as a zinger. It's just a rhetorical device of holding up a mirror to demonstrate the hypocrisy inherent in Republicans support of J6.

It's as old as having a second child. "But you let my older siblings do the exact same thing," and just getting, "Well, it's different for them, dear," in terms of who is allowed to get away with what.

It's been used for decades now to get second/third/etc. opinions on moderations. Most of the people posting there shouldn't even need to ask why, from what I've seen.

In the old days, users would "claim" dead boards for their own. I guess that one was chosen for mod stuff due to the fitting name for dealing with certain types of users.

It says something that several obvious trouble making users get let back in, but not users a lot/most people here like. Yeah, Antifar said something stupid, but we have several people who supported the 1/6 event still here. At least they still support the man and party who initiated it. Hell, that guy who supported the Charlottesville thing posted here for a long time instead of being banned immediately and that goes back to the politics board.

Yeah, this. Boards for games for certain older systems dont have enforced topicality, so some have been adopted as de facto social boards.
