I liked a lot of its ideas and combat was fun, but it just wasn't a very good game overall. I want to vote yes, but I'll have to go with Indifferent.

Yeah. I think whether you like the game is definitely entirely dependent on whether or not you like the Addition combat system. Outside of that the combat is very simple.

The music and settings are neat too. The plot is pretty hammy and the characters are almost all JRPG/Anime cliches but it's simple fun. Some specific segments like Law City Zenebatos are really cool and original I think.

I'm actively playing it now. I like so much about it, but I find the addition system leaves me weary after a time, especially dragoon additions.
Fortunately, there are mods that let you toggle auto-complete on, and that's a VERY cozy way to experience it.

It was mainly the writing and characcters I couldn't stand. Like, mid 90's JRPGs were never Pulitzer Prize level, but this one seemed exceptionally bad. Most of the dialogue was the other characters going on long expositions, explaining basic concepts, like "what is a dragon?" to the main character. And then everyone abruptly agreeing with each other when whatever the next destination is decided upon.

Loved it when I was younger, but it was never a perfect game, and I've been reluctant to revisit it since I most likely wouldn't enjoy it half as much as I did when it first came out.

Tried to replay it and got bored of it the second time.

Both times were decades ago, though. I'd like to revisit it some day, if I ever find the time.

I played it after FF9 and thought it lacked something. Also the battles were really choppy, especially bad for the timed hits.

I started a game of it like, two months ago and got sidetracked. Its pretty awesome, after I finish rebirth, Im hopping back in.

Finished it for the first time recently and didn't really like it that much. Starts out fine but the story and plot twists are kinda dumb.

Played it as a kid but didn't get very far because I only rented it, and Lavitz getting killed and replaced with the annoying nerd guy made me hate it back then.
