It's dumb how much I enjoyed catching a team of Alphas, but I sure did.

I think the overall lack of innovation in the preceding seven/eight years of mainline Pokemon helped this feeling so fresh, but man it was such a fun ride. It had at least two or three moments (the walk of shame, the origin Dialga music, Volo being Cynthia reincarnated/Giratina needing an ambulance but not for him, the Arceus fight) that I won't forget, more than everything else post-BW put together.

I found the gameplay immensely satisfying. A breath of fresh air really.

Couldn't really get into it, I felt like they needed some activities more compelling than catching the same Pokemon over and over again

Got me back into Pokemon after S&M killed my interest. Really engrossing and addictive because of all the little things.

It's good in theory, but I really don't like it. To me, Pokemon is about battling, and catching Pokemon is somewhat of a means of an end to that. I dislike the recent trend of emphasizing catching Pokemon for the sake of catching them, and Arceus is one of the worst at that because it flat out stops you from progressing until you catch 30 Starlys, 20 Shinx, etc.
