His show that is.

In all seriousness, I'm sure Colbert and the staff will get picked up elsewhere if they want to, but from a historical standpoint it sucks that Late Night tv is now kind of archaic.

Cancelled 3 days after calling out CBS for the Trump settlement.

Total coincidence I'm sure.

I just don't know if people actually watch it anymore. Feels like it used to be a big deal, but my feeling is that everyone just watches the clips online now.

Guy looking to buy CBS is also apparently "intrigued" by Trump's politics too so that's in play as well I bet.

He needs to go back to doing The Colbert Report on Comedy Central and really let it hang out.

EDIT: Never mind, I suppose that Paramount wouldn't let him do that on CC....

Colbert Report was so much better. The satire was incredible. Removing that layer and doing the same political jokes straight took the fun out of it

I always thought so too. No good if he's getting pushed out for political reasons, though.

This will end Colbert's run at 11 years, or 20 if you count Colbert Report. With Jimmy Kimmel supposedly not renewing his contract after next year, there's a big possibility that Jimmy Fallon stands alone soon as he's scheduled to run The Tonight Show until 2028

Which sucks because Fallon is the only one of those three who isn't funny. Similar to Colbert, he was way better on SNL, particularly with his impressions. Colbert is at least funny, just not as good as he was on his own show. Fallon is good as a host, but he doesn't do much to make me laugh. (And before you ask, I literally just watched a clip of him interviewing Weird Al.)

I do agree that late night talk shows are a dying breed. The internet did indeed kill them. It's too easy to find an unfiltered interview with somebody now.

Because I legit didn't know about it, whoops! Maher gets bumped up to 32 years, between Carson and Letterman.

Kinda. He only hosts once a week; senior correspondents host the other 4 days

They do the same number of shows per week!

1) I don't watch enough of any of these to know how they work
2) Maher and Oliver are the only ones hosting their shows. Daily Show's ran by multiple people per week. I was only discussing in regards to those running the desk by themselves.

It's all trivial anyway. At the rate things are going, a lot of them are about to leave.
