True. Isnt the barbarian queen character like 14 in the book? They had to age her up for the show

I'd have to double check but I think she was 13 when given over to Drogo but 12 when the book started and Viscerys sexually assaults her in her first scene.

Frankly it should be illegal for payment processors to dictate what people can and can't use their services for (provided the transaction is legal itself, of course). They are an absolute necessity to conduct business online. As things are now, they have complete control over what kind of business can be conducted and can shut down anything they don't like.

That or we need some sort of internationally supported method of transferring money digitally that any individual or business can use as they please.

Fuck these payment processors tbh
They've been throwing their weight around too much, and are just side-channel attacking the adult industry

Yeah, I see the chargeback fraud, but I highly doubt that's the only or biggest reason they're been going so hard on this stuff for the last several years.

Dude. They're works of fiction. If the content was illegal, they wouldn't be on the storefront in the first place. Payment processors wouldn't have to have these policies in the first place.
I'm not arguing for or against it, just pointing out patterns. Adult content creators and platforms inevitably run into problems with incest, bestiality, age play, and SA due to the wishy-washy legality of such content. Payment processors are not going to figure out which regions and subregions will allow it and instead do a blanket ban. It was only a matter of time before Steam got too big to ignore, especially with the advent of AI.
Tyranthraxus posted...
If these laws against "depictions of CP and incest" were anywhere near as solid as people on the Internet claim they are, GRRM would have been imprisoned for Game of Thrones. The book, not the show.
Intent and context still matters. I know judges are easy to make fun of but most people can and will recognize the difference between what A Song of Ice and Fire is about and what Fuck Your Hentai Daughter After School Quest BDSM Story is about.
I'm not being funny with the names btw there's hundreds of them on Steam with titles like that

Steam has extremely low charge back rate I imagine because they will literally ban your account if you do it, but like I said earlier they don't make rules for Steam. They make them for everyone. The push is probably shareholder driven but seeing as they're seemingly only cleaning up trash shovelware, this is probably more for appearances than anything else. Steam is an incredibly safe merchant as far as payment processors are concerned. They just need something to show to the payment processors that they're diligent in complying with the rules.

RIP Furry Hitler

I can't really find any information on fraud rates & to boot there's not really a lot of places you can even just buy furry porn in the first place. Most of the money exchanged comes in the form of artist commissions.

There are Murrsuit streamers though. I think a place like OnlyFans isn't going to want to make public fraud rates as it might hurt their business so who knows how bad the fraud problem really is. We have only the word of the payment processors that the fraud rate is higher than any other industry but don't really know what that means and their words aren't exactly trustworthy.

Payment processors aren't the ones pushing for these changes. If there's money to be made they want in on it.

If LGBT content gets banned it will be done via the government, so in the event it does happen we'd have a lot more to worry about than adult entertainment.

The payment processors make rules for all their clients. They aren't giving valve a special exception because things are different there. Fraud is bad enough when you get caught paying for regular porn. Furry shit probably gets refunded even more. Not on steam per se, just in general.
The fraud angle sounds like a cope. Anybody that's been paying attention saw this coming. Visa and Mastercard have been doing this for years. There are a couple of activist groups that have been going after Steam over violent and sexual content for years now, the sort that want anything that isn't a wholesome all ages experience to be completely banned. Real Jack Thompson types. I'd be willing to bet that they had a part in forcing the issue with payment processors.

Right now most of the shit that was taken down was just shovelware, but next month it will be the good stuff, or games that aren't even porn. There was a Chinese Ace Attorney clone that got taken down with no notification to to the developers at the same time.

I was just talking to some adult game devs about this and it looks like they're going after predominantly stuff that is "in your face" like Furry Hitler. After cleaning out a bunch of shovelware to satisfy the payment processors things will go back to normal.
That game's still available, though.

I would like to think its because the furry fandom is constantly getting into some very terrible controversies and so credit card companies like mastercard is not trying to be associated with them.

I'm expecting VRchat related purchases or whatever is next for them since it seems like every other week I'm listening in about some more VRchat degenerates grooming underage kids or whatever.

That really is how some random people think, lol. Its stupid yeah. Either that, or just flat out guilty by association. "This *insert degenerate thing here* wouldn't have happened if mastercard and visa allowed the sale to go through. Blood is on their hands, or they are racist/sexist/etc. for allowing this thing to happen. They support *insert thing here* because they did nothing!". Etc.

Its similar to how nintendo backs away from the smash community every time some sort of controversy is blowing up on social media. Like of course these companies isn't at fault for the kind of shit the worst degenerates get up to, but then its a fact that some people really will try to sue for just about anything and so the company just does not want to deal with all that.

I see that brief list of games posted with post #83 and it could be for money chargeback reasons, but imo is more than likely a mastercard does not want to be anywhere near the same universe to being associated with all those games with incest and rape in the game's name kind of thing.
