With my Switch 1, when it was docked, if I turned it on with a controller it would also turn my TV on and switch it to the correct input. With the Switch 2, it will turn the TV on, but not switch to the input and I have to do it manually; if the TV's already on, it will switch the input.

I looked through the settings and everything LOOKS like it should be able to turn the TV on and switch the input by itself all at once, instead of just one or the other, but it isn't. Is there another setting I should be looking for here?

I had this problem, too. I fixed it by getting a Switch 2 Pro Controller. The original Switch controller I could use to play, but had the same issues you did with turning it on.

You need the Switch 2 pro controller.

I'm not doubting the advice (because I have no reason to), but why would the controller be the factor here and not the actual console/dock settings?

OG switch Pro Controllers cannot wake the Switch 2. The Switch 2 does have some settings for matching TV power state and possibly TV input switching, but I'm unsure on what you might need to tinker with in that regard.

Ah, I should clarify that I'm not using the OG Pro controller to try and wake it, I already know I have to sync that each time I turn the system on. I'm using the Switch 2 Joy-cons to wake it.
