...Do you prefer if their palms, soles, and finger/toe tips are pale as in real life, or colored the same as the rest of their skin?

Most animation I've seen just color everything brown, which also includes games if they aren't trying to go in a more realistic art direction.

I don't really care until it's pointed out tbh, in which case I'd like a bit of accuracy

I do not care at all. It's not something I really notice.

I prefer it if the their palms, soles, nail beds, etc. are lighter, but I guess it mostly depends on the kind of animation.

like, if it's more stylized the way a lot of western, comedy animation is, then either way is fine.

if the animation is more realistic, then the lighter palms and so on.

The uniform coloring is generally more appealing to me tbh

i understand why they wouldn't if they don't have the time to do the extra colors, but it's still really nice when they actually do. I think MAWS does it with Jimmy

something came up about this in deep rock galactic, all the skin colors just wrap the body and hands automatically, whether they're fair, dark, blue, green, metallic, etc, and the devs basically were just like, um... well... not changing any, because it would take more work than we want to do, um, etto, bleh! x333

they also never added more eye colors, everyone has green eyes...

that being said, i do notice when devs get the lighter palms/fingers right. even though i'm white, i still appreciate the accuracy and attention to detail for different skin tones

pale is better, but if budgetary reasons or anything mostly out of their control forces them to be the same color as the rest of their skin I do understand it generally

Pale is preferred, especially if it's blended. Some cartoons won't and the "accuracy" is jarring.

I actually dislike when they make the palms pale. technically it is more accurate, but even irl it's only noticeable on darker skin.
