My Game Pass ran out the other day because they suspended my Microsoft Rewards account, and that's the only way I'd ever use the service. So...that's it for me. A decade of using MS Rewards and nearly just as long getting XBL/Game Pass for free. I'm not paying for that stuff out of pocket, even before the price increases, but most certainly now with them, so...

Anyway, odd thing happened. For some reason I have Elden Ring on Xbox One for free. Not sure how that happened, but a few people on Reddit got the same treatment at some point. More closer to launch than I. Still. I'll take it. Even if it is temporary. I own the game on Disc on Series X. So it's not like I'm stealing, but this is a strange glitch.

So I use MS Rewards and so does my older brother. We live together. I use it very religiously, but him not so much. We were both Suspended. Different Computers, different phones, different consoles, but I'm assuming the same IP Address.

Abyway, I contacted Support and got the BS form response about violating the rules with non-genuine searches using software to cheat. Something I've never done. But they also said I search too quickly. Which...is just how I search. Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc. Doesn't matter. That's just how I search. I'm fine with any cooldown they implement on me. I'm fine with not getting any points for my fast searching. But that just is my search style. Because I use it to narrow down what I'm looking for. And sometimes use it to find information with the ancillary info that I do have. Doing searches that way gets a popup in the Bing App that says you're behavior is suspicious. So I then modified my searches. I set timers to only search every few minutes. Which is not how I use the internet,, but that stopped me from getting the "suspicious activity" notification. But I digress.

My brother kept up his streak going just doing the Daily Set. They unsuspended his account the other day, but not mine. So I did the same thing and now I'm essentially just getting my Daily Set done and not doing any searches. If they lift my suspension cool, but I'm essentially no longer searching naturally, at least not for me. My search style is not something they like. I'll see if they prefer this style, or if they just don't want me earning any more points at all. I have well over 100,000 right now. I tell ya, one of the "scariest" times was when I was saving up points for 2 years straight to buy a Series X. Over 450,000. Always worried about if they were going to ban my account before I could redeem.

Yeah, definitely didn't do that, if you actually care at all. But you probably use it so infrequently that they don't care so much about you.
