A friend of mine has one that is called Tanhausers which is a versus grid based game and I loved it but can never find it, anything similar to that that a tabletop game shop would have?

Well there are board games kinda like that maybe. Back in the 90s I remember I used to have a game called Hero Quest where you move adventurers around a dungeon in turn based combat and 1 person was the DM and controlled the monsters

I think the game recently got remade and released with new expansions and stuff

There is also Warhammer. Both Fantasy Warhammer and Warhammer 40k which is the sci fi space one

Both are technically turn based table top strategy rpgs but probably way more complicated than you are asking for

Gloomhaven isn't exactly an RPG but might be what you're looking for.

There's a way to combine it with Founders of Gloomhaven if you're looking to make it feel more RPG-ish but Founders of Gloomhaven itself a strategy game.

Depends on what you mean by "similar to FFT/FE", but Gloomhaven would presumably be what you're looking for.

Yes, however that is a bit prohibitely expensive for my budget, I woudl love to get into killteam or warhamer proper tho.

EDIT: my friend already owns gloomhaven but Hero Quest does sound good.

I already play Dnd with my friends, it was my bad for not saying im looking for something a little more pick up and play becauise gloomhaven I already played and it takes like a milli9on years to setup and play :P

A couple friends in my old game group really liked this one. I never played it myself, so I'm not sure exactly how close it is to what you want.

I also don't know how available it'll be. It looks like the last base set printing was 10 years ago, and the last expansion was 2019.

For those that don't know DND history. It was inspired from war gaming. Is that what you are looking for?

The old 'Clix games from Wizkids might be something else to look into. Mage Knight was my favorite, but it had 360 movement. The Dungeons spinoff was on a grid, iirc. The superhero version Heroclix definitely is, and it had a ton of figures.
