In a video on Instagram, Ohtani opened a box from Konami. Inside was a portrait of his pet dog Decoy, a Yu-Gi-Oh! card of Decoy, and the caption, "First pitch delivered August 28, 2024." Ohtani included a photo of the portrait and Decoy. The Decoy card is a Level 1, Light Attribute Normal Summon Beast-Type monster with 50 attack and 50 defense. The card text reads, "An angel of happiness that descended upon the sacred mound. It is said he descended with his partner to perform the special First Pitch ceremony. People were enchanted by his graceful fur and cute appearance, and the ceremony concluded with a high-five. Showtime with his partner will continue in the future." Konami is no stranger to gifting celebrities with novelty and playable Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game/Trading Card Game cards.
