Infinite World is basically Budokai 4 but for some reason no one played it even though everyone played all the other DBZ games in the 2000s, even when a lot of them were pretty bad.

Infinite World is the worst DBZ game I have ever played.

There was an rpg on the DS that was kind of that. Turn based jrpg game. Based on the first dbz story. I think it was called Attack of the Saiyans. It covered arrival of Raditz to Earth, to the final fight of Goku vs Vegeta. It should have hada sequel though covering Namek. For some reason it did not and what should have been the beginning of a cool series, just ended

To be honest I haven't played it but here's a spicy take - Budokai 3 is also not as good as people remember. In particular Dragon Rush is one of the worst fighting game mechanics I've ever seen and any battle could be interrupted by it at any time. It's literally a minutes-long multi-round game of rock paper scissors. And for some reason a bunch of iconic moves like Special Beam Cannon are locked behind winning the rock paper scissors. Ultimate moves no longer being unique move combos like in Budokai 2 was also step back in my opinion. Budokai 2 of course has a bunch of problems too, like all of special move meters that destroy your controllers for example.

Personally I think all of the Tenkaichi games are better, even the first one.

I honestly agree with this take.

I really miss the cinematic focused and more linear story telling of the campaign in Budokai 1. That game had by far the best story mode of all the Budokai games. Awesome cutscenes that flowed right into the gameplay fights.

Its a shame because I really wanted to experience the Buu saga in that same style, but Budokai 1 only went up to the Cell saga.

Then Budokai 2 had to do that game board bullshit for their story mode, and Budokai 3 had that stupid flying over planets to jump into events story mode, that was broken up by character POVs too if I remember correctly. Just dumb gimmicks that werent pulled off well.

Burst Limit still looks really good almost 20 years later, pretty sure it played the exact same as the PS2 games. Shame it only stopped at Cell Saga as well.

Flying around was fun sure, but the structure of the story mode suffered from it for having it set up that way imo
