ngl these days applebees/chilis/etc, that tier of restaurant is significantly better value than what you get from a typical fast food combo

i punched in a standard big mac meal at mcdonalds near me. big mac, medium fries, medium drink for 10.75 after tax

i also punched in a "3 for me" at chilis near me. big QP burger, fries, appetizer choice (chips/salsa, soup, or salad), and drink for 11.97 after tax.

so for $1 more, you get better quality food AND and a completely additional item.

i also punched in the applebees "really big meal deal" at applebees near me. gets you a big bangin' burger, fries, and a drink for 10.54 after tax.

so you get better quality food for LESS than what you pay for at mcdonalds.

lots of value to be had at these low-tier dine-in places when you compare them to typical fast food.

EDIT: actually if i'm doing a fair comparison, the closest combo at mcdonalds is a double quarter pounder with cheese, since the chilis burger i used is 7.5-8.5 ounces and the applebees one is 7oz. so when i punch in a double quarter pounder with cheese combo, medium fries, and drink, that comes out to 12.33 after tax, which is more than both applebees' and chilis' comparable combo options.

Neither of those restaurants serve quality food.

Yeah it's much better to spend $900 on healthy fine dining.
