What do you think all this fascism is for? We already have Dem lawmakers being shot in their homes, Dem politicians being handcuffed and dragged out by police for questioning Republicans, the national guard being called on Dem states against the wishes of the state government.

You think ICE raids and National Guard and empowering the police state without due process is actually to fight illegal immigration?

Of course not, the ultimate goal was always to get rid of everyone that doesn't fit with their ideology. They just weren't going to do it all at once.

But now it's getting to the point where we are going to start getting more blatantly targeted. He wants us all deported from the country, not just immigrants.

Because the kind of people who would go to his rallies are actually a relatively small group. Millions of people voted for him just because they thought he was going to magically fix the economy. I have members of my own family that fall into this group, and Id be willing to bet most of the posters here do too.

I live in a purple area politically speaking, so I get a wide variety of customers where I work. And the main thing I kept overhearing was I dont like the things he says but we have to vote for him because hes good for the economy.

Thats why he got so many votes despite his rallies being small. MAGA nutjobs are only a small part of his voters. A huge portion of Americans dont really care about politics on either side and only get news from social media. The same social media that spent the entire election year screaming BIDEN BAD.

I dont think there was a conspiracy to hack the election. I think a majority of voters just really are dumb enough to believe the medias sanewashing of Trump.

It's something to think about as i expected an acceptable turn out for him despite discourse - people have obviously been gloating about voting him in, but now the buyers remorse is slowly setting in?

Problem is people don't wanna admit they fucked up on this big a scale because they wanted to hurt people.

Yeah both sides really need to understand that actual MAGA always was and still is only like ~1/3 of the country (which, I mean, is still horrifying). The remainder of Trump voters are just extremely out of touch and fell for the media's sanewashing. The way forward isn't to pander to how those people poll on their 20th most important issue, it's to get them to give a shit in the first place.
