don't really see the point when most of us already have the trilogy. pretty sure it was on ps+ monthly awhile ago. but cool for the diehard fans that want more versions of it. the cowabunga collection was great.

i also think the GBA versions are weird but maybe the console ones just haven't been announced yet.

I am excited by this collection. I loved the Atari 50 collection and others that Digital Eclipse has done and treating it as a museum with cool interview videos and details about the games. Makes these type of game collections have more value and justifies the cost than just a simple game collection for games you could probably easily emulate.

Yep. And even though its kind of very simple and just window dressing around bouts using different fight styles, I really, really loved Deceptions Konquest mode. I would sometimes just go to that and move around from one realm to another, imagining a story in my head. They could really build a cool RPG-kinda game out of that if they were inclined.

Deceptions Chess mode was pretty cool, too.

They don't make very many original games, but most of them aren't very good. They've always excelled at compilations, but not their own stuff.

While i get the whole "gaming conservation" thing. Do we really need GBA fighting games on these collections? They were never good.

You never hear people going "Street Fighter 2 game boy edition is far superior to the SNES version" etc.

Its WB. They will have done this purposely to pad it out for a volume 2 and later a volume 3.

Volume 2 we'll get the really bad ones like the 64 version of Sub Zero.

I can't imagine Gold won't also be here, but in my experience many people who like MK4 actually prefer the original version because the new characters are all hideously broken and reeking of not being tested, and the original pressing of the game was much buggier than the arcade and even the PS1/N64 ports (they did release a patched MK Gold disc, but even it is still very much broken)

the only version of mortal kombat 4 ive played was the original arcade version,
you see as a kid my mother owned a laundromat and she had set it up as a place to have fun and kill time as you do laundry. there was a little concession stand to buy chips and pop
as well as a little living room area with a coffee table, a couch, a comfy chair and a love seat all around a TV with cable.

but the best part was she had several arcade machines in the corner. i spent hours playing them as my mom worked. she had games like ms pacman, tetris, other ones ive forgotten the name of. but she also had mortal kombat 2
i played that game so much. but she didnt own the machines she just rented the area out to someone else to host the machines there so she didnt get the profits from them but they did bring people in.

so one day mortal kombat 2 got replaced with mortal kombat 4. and it was a lot easier. i never once beat mortal kombat 2 when i was a kid playing the arcade version. i could never get past kintaro. well thats not true. i did beat him twice. but i never beat the final boss

but i was able to beat mk4 and i did it once with each character

They made that cabinet of The Grid very obvious in the trailer; I won't be surprised if that makes it in. Which would be awesome, since it's never had a home port before, and the arcade version on MAME doesn't run very well, especially on older computers.

For those who don't know, The Grid is a TPS specifically designed for the arcades; they generally came in sets of 3 cabinets. How this relates to MK: there are codes to play as some of the MK characters. Ever wanted to play Quake 3 with Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden? Well, now you can!
